Happy Fall

Have you ever tried standing an egg up on the first day of Spring or Autumn?  It really works!  I know in actuality it can be done any day, but it's a lot more fun to try it on a special day and seems to work a lot easier.  Go ahead try it...it's still the first day of fall.

Everything is going fine here.  Had a "Launch Party" for Weight Watchers last weekend and I'm trying something different, but that's about all I can say about that.  Hoping a little change gives me a keep in the rear that I need to lose some weight.  I refuse to go up a pant size.  I know that my weight gain has been gradual starting when I quit working full-time.  Wish I still had the walking routine that I had when I was working, but walking 15,000-20,000 steps a day just isn't as much fun around the house.

Happy Fall!  I love this time of the year.  Our leaves are already changing, but seems everything was a few weeks ahead of schedule this year.  Hope that doesn't mean that the snow is on it's way early too.

It's Windy

I gotta say that's it's tough getting back into a school day routine. It's easy enough to wake up and get going, in fact the last few weeks, I've been waking up about 4:30am ready for the day. I have gotten up a few times and gone for a run.

The kids already had off last Friday from school. One week in and off for a longer weekend. We spent the day "parking" it. The kids love playing outside and the fresh air always wears them out more, so we went to Miller Park and played on the huge playground in the parking lot. The wind is awful round these parts. We had to search the deep trenches of the closets to find pants and sweatshirts as we've been wearing shorts and t-shirts all summer. We made it to the zoo this weekend and wore off a bit more energy there.

Today, it was back to school and the kids are finally back to uniforms. I understand that the school likes to let the kids wear their "new" clothes to start the year, but uniforms sure are convenient.

I made it to a WW meeting with the 2 yr old last Wednesday and he did awesome. It's a meeting I had never gone too...lots of retirees and a few others tossed in. We'll go again tomorrow as I love the leader. I have to say this has been a tough week. I put the scale away once again. I find myself always stepping on the blasted thing and this week and relying on my hunger and only weighing tomorrow at the meeting. It will be the first time ever that I'll be surprised at a weigh-in because I really don't know what to expect. I have tracked 4 out of 7 days, and haven't done horrible the other 3 days, I just hate worrying about it on the weekends and Friday just turned into a weekend day round here ;)

Hoping to check in a little more often as this naptime is an awesome two hours of the day. Exercise, lunch and a bit of computer time.
