My mom is obsessed with weight -- she's often telling me 'he is sooooooooo fat' or 'she is veeeeeeeery large' -- I've been preparing myself for when she comments on my weight. She never says anything about it, although when I lost the 40 lbs. before she kept saying 'now keep it off, okay?' (like I was planning on gaining it all right back!). I wonder if this is a generational thing -- commenting re: weight? And adding dementia into the scenario -- recipe for disaster! Don't let her comments discourage you! Isn't it strange how we'll remember one negative comment and forget the hundred of positive ones?
