America's Largest Waterpark

Yesterday, I went to Noah's Ark. My wife and I took our oldest daughter, Elizabeth for a Mommy, Daddy and Me day. I had a great time going down water slides and strolling down the lazy rivers, but today I am feeling "it." "It" is the feeling of overdoing something and being so sore as it hurts to move. Today, my knees, my backside, my back, my shoulders and most of the rest of my body is feeling the effects of "it." My wife and I had not been to Noah's Ark for 5 years, since we were a little busy for some reason. But this year, we decided to take Elizabeth since she is now 48 inches, the magic height for most rides. It was the first day in over a year that I did not wear a pedometer as I knew I'd be in the water a lot. Seeing that most of the rides have several stories of stairs to walk up, I'm sure I had no problem hitting 10,000. Elizabeth wanted to slide down the same slide about 10 times in a row and have races to the bottom and I hate losing so I did it each time.

It also marked the first time in several, SEVERAL, years that I went without a shirt in public. In the past, I would have worn a shirt all day to cover up, but yesterday I made a conscious decision to go without one. I know I still have a way to go before I'll look anywhere near having a "good" body, but I wasn't at all self conscious. I did notice many guys that were wearing shirts and doing the same thing I would have been doing in the past.

I did notice something else at the waterpark too. It is not for "old" people. And today I am feeling old. Not many people past their 30's at the park unless they had a family of kids with them. I would love to go back, but next time I will remember the feeling of "it" and hopefully take it a little easier.

Sounds like lots of fun! & thanks for sharing your insecurities re: going w/o a top. I think us females (me, anyway) seem to think that it's just us w/ those insecurities! I donned a bathing suit yesterday and it wasn't pretty, but it was fun! D

It's funny you blogged about this today ....I mentioned water parks on my post today. I am looking forward to next summer when the twins will be old enough to take and we can all enjoy a family day. I look forward to feeling okay in a bathing suit. I bet Elizabeth has some great memories she will carry with her for a long time :)

I agree with "d" wholeheartedly. I appreciate your openness and honesty. I'm glad you had fun though. Of course you paid for it dearly but it was worth it in the end. (no pun intended but a good one, yes?)
