"I'm Hungry"

My 4 year old, Caryn, told me on Sunday that she was hungry. It was breakfast time and I asked her what I always do, "What are you hungry for?" She responded, "A LOLLIPOP!" Well, being the good parent that I am ;), I told her that lollipops are treats, not a good breakfast food. She settled on a peanut butter sandwich. Caryn has quite the sweet tooth, but that peanut butter sandwich must have satisified her because she still has not asked for that lollipop again.

Protein always seems to do the trick for me and it seems it worked for my little sweet tooth as well.

Hope you're enjoying the Olympics. Can't quite understand why "women", mainly my wife, love the Olympics so much and can watch it from morning till night and even wake up early to watch it, but if I sit and watch 3 football games in a row, I don't hear the end of it.

I'm with your wife on this one. I love the olympics and can watch them all day long. And yep, normally we don't watch sports at all ;)

I had never realized that, but alas you are correct sir! If I want to spend a Saturday watching college football and then let it bleed into a couple of games on Sunday I should be able to right?

Yay for peanut butter...it sticks to your ribs as well as it sticks to the roof of your mouth!

I think the difference is that the Olympic commentators are skilled at drawing you into future events by giving biographic clips prior to the events...it gets me every time! It is just like the movie trailers you see and swear you just have to see the movie! Gotta teach the football guys how to do that!

I could never sit & watch anything without doing something else also -- and my family will attest to this. Funny but this little feature of mine drives them crazy!!! I guess there are problems everywhere! I will watch the Olympics while making dinner or working on some paperwork, but never just sitting there, watching. Even if I do sit, I've also got the newspaper or a book & am reading also. The only kind of multi-tasking that I'm good at! Used to drive my teachers crazy too!

Anyway, found the PB2 info (posted it on my blog too) EDITED TO ADD: (Aug. 12/08) PB2 info: PB2 is NOT available anywhere in Ontario, Canada yet...but they do ship to Canada. The cost of 4 jars is $15.96 and shipping to Canada is $23.00US! They can fit up to 10 jars in the same box for the same shipping price. Hmmm. The box is 3 pounds.

I'm thinking I might order a box and have a PB2 stand outside of my house, you know, kind of like a Koolaid stand!

It's great that your teaching your kids to eat healthy though, even if it is in the round about way. Sometimes I wish my mom would've done a better job, maybe it would have saved me the struggle to change habits.

I don't get the people who are so incredibly into Olympics that aren't into sports otherwise. I get into them a bit, but I'm a sport addict regardless lol.

Gotta love the olympics. The drama, etc.

We love the Olympics here too......maybe it's all the fit bodies?? Ha ha ;) For me, it's how these young people are so driven and focused in a world where that is almost a thing of the past. I love PB for breakfast too :)

Sunday is family day.. not a day to sit and watch football all day long.. the Olympics only come around every other year, not every sunday... they are exciting and the children can also understand what they are watching and can cheer for the atletes, also.. The one thing i can say, is when basketball is on the Olympics, the kids don't watch.. ( neither do I) Guess our attention spans aren't set for those "long" sports; just the 30 sec- 3 minute competitions.. We see football all the time.. when do you get to watch swimming, water polo, handball, fencing, equestrain jumping, trampoline multiple times a day!! EXCITING!!

I must be an unusual "woman". I can watch the Olympics for about an hour at a time and that's enough. I only watch when I know a "gold medal" is imminent. Also enjoy gymnastics.

Don't think I could watch 3 football games in a row....why is it that men find NASCAR so intriguing?? To me, that's a waste of time that could be spent on "Honey DO" chores!! :) :)

That's hilarious.
Don't you know that women rule the world?
We just get permission to hold the remote. They own it.
Of course the Olympics are only once every 4 years.

lol, I emailed your last paragraph to my own darling Olymp-oholic wife this morning. Can't wait to hear her reply...

I'm guilty on all four accounts--a lollipop sounds awesome, PB is always good, i'm addicted to the olympics (but tivo it so i still get my sleep) and am SO excited for football (even though we rarely get to see a badger, packers, gophers or vikings game anymore)!
