Lights & Exercise

Happy Leap Day!

My 3 yr old woke me up about 3:30 to make sure I wouldn't miss it. He's been in the habit of waking up and crawling into our bed for awhile. Not so fun to have a knee jabbing me in the back. May have to bribe him as we did with the 6 yr old. Stay in your bed for 7 days in a row and you can buy a toy.

I am amazed by the number of lights we have in our 2200 sq ft house. It seems that the kids have a very easy time flipping the lights on, but when it comes to turning them off, they forget where the light switch is. I run through the house frantically everyday turning the lights off before we leave for school. And everyday, it seems I find at least a few left on; upstairs bathroom, girl's bedroom, and sometimes 3 or 4 different light switches in the basement. I reaaly need to throw my pedometer back on to see how many more steps I take in our new house. In our old house, I didn't so much care as I came back home right away to eat breakfast, but in our new house, I don't get back home till after noon. Trying to save a little energy cost whereever I can.

Have a great February 29!

LOL, I remember those days! Sometimes it still happens here, but the kids have become much more aware when I've shown them the bills and they've seen the charges! Plus now we have time-of-day billing and certain times are more expensive than others - so they like seeing how we've done. BUT yah, getting them to that point? Consistency, I guess! When I babysit - the kids do the same thing with the switches!

It's also good to unplug items you're not using to save money too.
