"You've Lost How Much?"

Our company is once again selling spirit wear. I have two XXL shirts that I have bought in the past and one fleece jacket. Today, I went into the room where everything was on display and the administrative assistant who was also my mentor when I first started my current job was amazed. She had seen me in the halls on occasion, but never really took note of my weight loss until I came to view the apparel. The first thing I picked up was a red fleece size large. I put it on and the new nurse manager commented about how red looked very good on me. Well, I bought a new fleece and I also bought a size large T-shirt. As I was trying shirts on, the administrative assistant commented again by saying, "You've lost how much weight?" I proudly rounded the number up to 70 and she stopped and said, "Seven-zero?" I smiled and said yes. The few people looking at the clothes were amazed at my progress and now that I thought about the rest of the day, I discovered that I'm very amazed as well. This has not been an easy process, but it has been very rewarding. Sure, I have a few pounds to go to reach 70, but I've taken note and finally realized that this is a major accomplishment worth a double-take.
