Biggest Loser Workout

It is 6:30am and I just got done doing my Biggest Loser Workout. I sure have missed watching the show while riding my elliptical. Today, I set the alarm for 4:30 and after pressing the snooze button only once, I did it. I got out of bed, threw on my clothes that I had laid out last night, rewound the tape, put in my contacts, hopped on the elliptical and rode for an hour non-stop. It felt so good and I don't think I've done a whole hour since the last season of the Biggest Loser. I won't spoil anything here, since I hate it when I'm reading blogging and find out about the outcome before I've watched it, but it was a good show. I am starting to get a favorite team and I'll just let you know that it's the team that had the biggest loss this week.

An hour on the elliptical is huge. I need to do it more often especially after a day of eating like yesterday. I've been trying to eat mostly core foods, but yesterday I seemed hungry all day and even though I stayed within the core foods, I know I ate too much. Today, I'll be counting my points even though I'll still be sticking to the core foods. My portions just seem to get larger and larger when I do core.

Today's challenge: I have to pick the kids up from school. My wife has a meeting after school and I have already told the kids it's a McDonald's night. I'll be eating at home, but have a hard time staying away from the salty deliciousness of the fries. I know my 2 yr. old won't mind if I have a few, but I can never stop after just one or two or ten!

Something that helps me with the fries is thinking of all the chemists that worked to develop the smell/taste of the fries -- deliberately designed to lure people. That brings out my inner rebel and I refuse to be manipulated ;-)

Carbohydrates+ fats topped with salt or sugar= a prescription for overweight. That has always been something I have to fight.

Great job with the exercise machine...........:)

I've kicked my walking up a notch, and enjoying it a lot.

I had one of those "hungry all day" days yesterday, too. I think I was stressing about a few things.
I'm hoping today will be better.

And McDonald french fries are the BEST! Thank heavens I don't have any kids to take to McD's - I haven't been there for over a year.
Good luck with only eating a few....

You are so good to be up early and working out. I realized this morning that it's been sooooo long since I got in my walk. The sad part is I don't really care. The scale is OK, my clothes fit, and I don't mind the jiggles too much. Maybe I'll get motivated in the spring again.

As for the fry dilemma. Have one or two, but then make yourself wait for like 15 or 20 minutes. By then they are cold and taste nasty! lol Or you can ration out a few for yourself and put your oldest in charge of monitoring you. That works too! Have a good time with the kiddos.

And I found that I would eat core foods because I could, not because I was really hungry but just because it was "allowed".

sounds like a great workout. I am thoroughly enjoying the BL this year.....maybe because in the past I was content to stay fat so it didn't interest me :)

My favorite teams are the red and the brown.

I don't know if it's because I was cheering for Ali last year or what but I'd like to see the Pink Team go far anyhow.

Great job getting an early start to exercising!

Those McD fries - hard to avoid (for me!).
