Gotta Luv Kids!!

"Daddy, how do you spell pudding?"

My 4 yr. old got a great new purple purse that she has been carrying around the house, taking to church and any where else we happen to go, and has specific spots for each of it's contents including the AAA batteries, which I don't quite get yet?? One of her prized possessions within the purse is a notebook. She has been watching me track in my 3 month tracker that I keep in the kitchen. Often, she adds her own little creations in my journal, but now she has her own. For the past week, each morning she has asked me how to spell pudding. Seems this is her breakfast of choice lately and she's getting pretty good at spelling it.

These simple habits make a difference. I had kind of neglected the journal lately, but now that my shadow has kicked me back in gear, I'm watching more diligently. Remember that people are watching you, reading what you write, looking at what you are eating and your habits are rubbing off on others no matter how small they are.

It is awesome to see your children picking up your healthier habits. I have to smile when I see my 11 year old checking a box or bag of goodies to see how many is in a serving now, rather than just grabbing the bag and mindlessly munching the way we all used to do. The kids and hubby both are tremendous helpers in my accountability.

There's something about girls that age that NEED to write. Mine is always making her own grocery list. Things like apples and fishy crackers and LOTS of mac and cheese are on her list.

I'm back to tracking too. Decided to do it for 3 months just to work on healthy habits. So far so good!

Is that what she gave me when I was there? Did she think I would analyze her diet for her and make her a plan? Does she know my nutrition background? She seemed pleased with my response to the scribbled piece of paper of, "looks good, keep up the good work!"....huh...

Could have been what she gave you, but actually she does try to spell it for real...she does know most of her letters.

I doubt she could care what you think of it either, just playing most of the time.

Just remember who gave her that purple purse!! Glad she's using it. Can't figure out the batteries, though. I think her uncle gave her those with the Dora game.
