I've been working with a substitute leader for the last week as my regular leader is off on a cruise. She gave me a challenge as I told her I have been struggling in the evening. I do so well until after supper and then I just eat hog wild. In WW terms, I eat at less 10-15 points AFTER supper. Unfortunately, I don't have 10-15 points to play with after supper, so something has to change.
I have a three month journal, but the last time I wrote anything in it was March 1. Unfortunately, I usually track well from breakfast to lunch and then by 4:00 I stop writing stuff down. My challenge this week will be to skip the writing process in the morning and lunchtime and focus on 4:00 and beyond. I do well all day as I treat my day like a "workday" and rarely stop for a snack. It's after the girls come home from school that continues to haunt me.
My new leader friend, suggested that I eat one food after supper. Whatever I pick needs to be a "filling food" and I can eat as much as I need. This will be a challenge as I've been grabbing different things to satisfy myself. All healthy snacks, but the points still wrack up!! So this week, when I reach for the evening snack I will be conscious of what I want to eat. I will eat one thing and eat as much as I need to satisfy my snacking habit.
I'm hoping this new tracking system of only writing down from 4:00 on and snacking on one food after supper have a positive influence on me because I am longing for a little success.
