Power Outage

My wife is in NY this week leaving me the chore of getting everyone up, ready and out the door. We usually get 2 kids ready each; I take the boys, she takes the girls. It was fine this morning until I got back home from dropping the kids off at school.

I went to flip on the news before starting my coffee and oatmeal. Suddenly, silence! Everything turned off. The power to 12,000 homes, schools, and businesses out. I was one of of lucky 12,000.

Two hours seems like an eternity when you're longing for coffee and some oatmeal. What was I to do? Grabbed a banana. Didn't do it for me. Grabbed a granola bar. No dice! Drank a WW smoothie and still was not happy. Maybe another banana?

Got myself and the little one bundled up as it is in the single digits temperature wise around here. We headed off to City Hall to pat the property tax bill. Headed to the bank, which still had power and then came home to find the power still out!

I'm still waiting for my oatmeal and I've allowed my day to be ruined by a silly power outage.

I will conquer the rest of the day and make the best of the situation. Maybe I'll incorporate my oatmeal into some cookies. Just kidding of course.

Kathy~Didn't go for the donuts, but believe me I was tempted. (They had no power either) ;)

MIL~Stayed clear of making cookies, I do better when they're at your house only.

Yum Yucky~Glad to know I have power to encourage a craving. I hadn't wanted Cheerios in forever, till I saw your blog about the darn chocolate ones.

Mizfit~6 days! Cookies never last more than 2-3 days here.

Oh Sew Good~Good idea, but I'd be afraid I'd be forced to eat all of them then.

Sounds like you made some healthy choices while waiting on that power
