Just a Busy Week

Noticing that there are still several people checking here daily for inspiration and a dose of reality, I want to assure you that I am still plugging away. I mentioned last week that I was going to try CORE for a while. My week starts on Wednesday and by Saturday, I had eaten all of my 35 weekly points. I know when you're on Maintenance, you are allowed more points, but it was clear to me that I am not quite at a point where CORE will work yet. Convenience foods, peanut butter and chocolate take up too many of my points to consider going CORE. I noticed myself regressing to bad habits of snacking with BIG snacks like a bag of popcorn and a bowl of oatmeal or peanut butter and carrots and a piece of fruit, instead of one or the other. All those are technically CORE foods, but they also add lots of points that I really didn't need.

So it's back to FLEX and tracking everything for now. I still have noticed that I tend to eat a lot of CORE foods, it's just that I eat too many non-core foods too;)

I shall return sooner than my last post...it's just been a busy week: WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD. Meant a few evening engagements at daycare and long nights that wore Daddy out faster than the kids.

Thanks for hanging with me and motivating me to keep going. I shall make it to a meeting this week, skipped my regular meeting "just because" and I don't want to get into that habit.

Going to CORE was an adjustment, but I think it's great that you just really looked at what you are eating and aim for more whole foods.

Some weeks with the kiddos just get CRAZY, huh? Keep plugging away.

Good to see you are still alive. Kiddies are good exercise!

I didn't give into the candies, but that just means they will be there for me today to stare at.

I know, I can't believe a girl won BL! Honestly, I would have preferred for Roger or Kelly to win. Something about Ally rubbed me the wrong way, but she really did do an amazing job.

Welcome back! I am not so brave to try core just yet. I do think it is a good exercise though. You find out very quickly how much of your food is really "core". I think we follow a similar plan. Mostly core stuff with some not core on the side. :-)

Get back to the meeting, I am not sure I could do this without the weekly encouragement and accountability I get from the meetings.

Hope all is well, looking forward to hearing about the remodel.

Isn't it always 'week of the young child' when you've got kiddos?? Missing you! Glad you figured out what does and doesn't work for you. I find that I need firm boundaries also.

Oh yeh, when/if you have time, check my blog out. I've tagged you for an easy meme. D

Busy with prepping the house for the remodel. CORE sounds like it would be tough without a kitchen at home too!! Good luck with that...you should take progressive photos!!

Have you figured out snapfish yet??

Portion control of even healthy foods is a challenge! I always want a salad big enough for a whole family! And popcorn has to be in the 100 calorie bags because I eat until it's all gone no matter if it's a cup or a bucket full!
