What's On Your Christmas List?

This weekend I was introduced to Yaktrax. They don't look like much of anything, but if you've ever tried to go for a walk or a run on the snowy, icy sidewalks of Wisconsin, you'd know that regular shoes or boots for that matter, just don't cut it.

The person that told me about these, swears by them. She wears them running and said that she has never had a problem with gripping or slipping on the ice/snow anymore with these. I have pretty much stopped walking since Thanksgiving thanks to the foot of snow we have around. If these little rubber wonders work the way they are advertised, I may actually have a way to walk without worrying about falling on my keaster.

She did mention however, that they are only good if you are on snow or ice and you need to take them off before entering a house, store, dry surface, etc.

I'm looking forward to more snow here in Milwaukee. 3-6 inches in my neck of the woods for tonight and tomorrow.

I've been looking at something similar for my runs, as of lately things have been getting rather slippery around here! Thanks!

I love my Yaktrax. They are kind of like snow tire chains for the feet.

I've had these recommended to me from our postman but I've never purchased them. Every year I wonder if I should buy them -- I just saw them at Canadian Tire the other day. I think I'll pick up a pair. I've fallen too many times! D
