Why are Physicals so Painful?

I'm starting a new old job next week as my boss from the nursing home I really got my MT career started at, gave me a call last week and asked if I'd be interested in any hours. Since I've worked there before and my wife has the summer off, I ran it by her and she was a little more excited about getting me out of the house than I thought she would be.

Today, I went to get a pre-employment physical, drug test, TB skin test, etc. The Occupational Nurse asked tons of questions and nothing was out of the ordinary. What was painful about the physical? My weight!! According to WW, I'm 6'1" with my shoes, according to her scale, 5'11" without my shoes. According to WW, my weight is about 196, according to her scale, 203!! That is not an acceptable number!!

Painful, yes!! But I can deal with it. I have stayed true to my goals of reaching 10,000 6 out of 7 days or tracking everything I eat, but my elliptical has seen some heavy action lately. 1 out of 3 goals is better than none.

My wife did better than I did yesterday, writing everything done that she ate all day and asking me to figure out the points. Her points, fun to figure out; my points, too much work to figure out. Maybe it was that I snacked WAY too much and didn't want to know.

Physicals are painful, but it was an eye-opener that will hopefully wake me up out of this lackadaisical funk I've been in.

I have a feeling you will see more structure when you begin working again!

Well I can't say for certain but it seems to me the majority of folks I've known always say the scales at the doctors' offices are always out of sync with the ones at home. Could that be it?

my scale is not working right again either... it keeps telling me I weigh 176 instead of 170! I have some work to do myself!

Maybe it was the taffy this week.
And you're too young to be getting shorter!?! I feel like you mentioned this awhile back...how you were shorter at work than at WW....maybe not. I'm too lazy to search through your old posts.

Yay back to work for awhile! WDW needs to be paid for somehow! Especially with gas at 2.60/gallon (out here at least)...

Have fun back at work!! Claire and all the kids...she should shed pounds quick!!!

I like the idea of Mrs. TB doing a guest post!!! ;)

When I saw your title I thought you'd had that little man test done (my DH still whines about it)!!! Guess you're not over 40 & don't need that one done yet... ;) But it was the scale! I had my body composition done yesterday and I was sooooooooooo nervous to find out how fat I was. Not just the scale stats but percentages of lean & non-lean tissue. It wasn't pretty, but it was better results that I'd expected. Have you ever had that done? Apparently the jist is that what you're made up of is more important than just the # on the scale -- which makes sense. I know there are a lot of skinny people out there that are really fat people, if you know what I mean. D

No guest post from the Mrs. yet.

I did talk about my height at one time, but I think it was because I was wearing my glasses or just walking with my head held high, never gaining or losing an inch.

And I know I'm just not paying close enough attention so the scale was not off yesterday, it's been my eating.

i was 4 points over and it was only 4:30!! was it because of what i ate that made it funt buy the stuff that you are tempted to eat
