Healthy Snacking

This week's challenge at WW was to eat at least 10 meals focused on the filling foods. Frankly, I thought this would be an easy challenge. I know my meals are usually healthy, it's my snacks that tend to be not so healthy.

So I've been focusing on healthy snacking this week. My 8 yr old came home Monday telling me that she had nothing healthy in her lunch. She has snack mid-morning, but is only able to eat something deemed healthy by her teacher. She is a picky convenient food eater...doesn't eat fresh fruits, yogurt or puddings. I usually throw fruit snacks, some snacky bag and another assorted prepacked dessert/snack to go along with her entree which is usually mac/cheese, ravioli, or leftovers.

Yesterday, I sent string cheese, orange slices, pudding and a rice krispie treat. The only thing that didn't come back home was the rice krispie treat.

She sees me snacking and I'm sure she's learning the bad habits from me.

I'm working hard on the healthy snacks this week and so far, so ok ;)

My daughter was exactly the same for years! However, now she's willing to eat fruit and a lot of veggies that once wouldn't have ever been on her plate.

You said she didn't eat pudding and you sent pudding but it didn't come back. Hmm? Maybe he/she eats pudding when after all. :)

What about those little applesauce cups? Or some homemade mini muffins or banana bread with a few little chocolate chips?

You are so much nicer than I am. I rarely have those kinds of snacks around. And my kids have yet to starve. If you just stop buying her stuff, would she find healthier alternatives? Maybe not a string cheese (I have one kid who hates it), but cheddar cheese cubes? Or some pb on little bites of whole wheat bread? Even hard boiled eggs. I'm amazed at how many kids like those.

Good luck!

I agree with noelle. Just don't have "unhealthy" foods around.

Good day, sun shines!
There have were times of hardship when I felt unhappy missing knowledge about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright stupid person.
I have never imagined that there weren't any need in large initial investment.
Nowadays, I feel good, I begin to get real money.
It's all about how to choose a correct partner who uses your money in a right way - that is incorporate it in real deals, parts and divides the income with me.

You can ask, if there are such firms? I have to tell the truth, YES, there are. Please get to know about one of them:
