Phineas and Ferb

My kids were watching Disney Channel and an episode of "Phineas and Ferb" was on. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the show, in fact, each time I catch it, I find myself saying,"This is stupid!" This episode was no different.

Dr. Doofenshmirtz was creating a contraption (an disintegration ray) to get rid of a bridge leading to a cupcake factory. Seems he had been gaining weight and each time he was close to his goal weight, the "Fireside Girls" always came to his door selling cupcakes. If it were just so simple. Create a disintegration ray to rid the world of tempting food. His disintegration ray turned everything into broccoli, what a concept!

In the end, of course Doofenshmirtz failed, just like always. And the episode left me saying,"This is stupid!" just like always! But it did get me thinking about the ONE food that keeps me from succeeding and staying at my goal weight. You know, I can't seem to narrow it down to just one! I really have been eating clean, just too much. I continue to work at so maybe if Doofenshmirtz could work on the ultimate portion control contraption I'd be set!

I read a quote the other day that if you can't give something up, it controls you and you don't control it. Seems rather fitting to food and portion control, huh?

I haven't seen the show (or even heard of it) but I like the idea of the disintigration ray!!! Hmmm, I could use that! I'd disintigrate chocolate covered jubes for starters... Good post, TB! :) And I agree, eating clean is great but quantity has to be watched!!! Grrrr.

TB,
Hi - happened by your blog today checking out others who are blogging their way to weight loss or maintenance. Read some of your posts, was it over 80 pounds you lost? Your Before/After pics rock - Awesome! I'm just off on the start of my own journey, looking to drop 121 pounds; have 10 of those off after my first three weeks. I saw that Greys Anatomy episode you reference in another post, so "Why is it so easy to be self critical and so hard to accept compliments?" Wish I knew, but that’s me I suppose. When complimented I often wonder do I really deserve it. Guess one shouldn't shy away from a compliment. I'll follow on here and hope to hear from you.

Ron~I know that honest tracking would rectify my situation, just can't seem to get back on the tracking bandwagon.

Oh Sew Good~Sometimes I feel food in general controls me especially on the routine days when I have nothing better to think about.

Mizfit~Phineas and Ferb are worth a watch. I've gone to enjoy the show, but still giggle at the end and say, "This is stupid!"

D~Always nice to have you drop by. Clean eating is great, but portions have been my problem lately.

Patrick~Thanks for the comments. 80 pounds lost was the easy part, maintaining that loss will be a lifelong challenge!!

Struck me as I read, that we must be the sort that just switch off. We plonk ourselves in front of TV's and watch what we know is mindless stuff, and we plonk ourselves in front of food and eat often without tasting - we seem to have a penchant for 'switching' life off sometimes. Perhaps we have 'switch off' disease. He could have chosen Cauliflower - I would have been far more impressed.

I was running about fifty yards behind Patrick when he swanned in here all unannounced - glad I found you too.

Blue~
