Dairy Diet

Eating More Dairy Can Help You Lose More Weight? I was watching the Discovery Health Channel last night and saw the show, "The Truth about Food." One of the stories was about a study done in Denmark. I was amazed to see the results. Maybe there is a good reason that Weight Watchers recommends two servings of dairy each day. I have not been very good at this guideline, but now that I know consuming more dairy will help me keep my weight off I may be more apt to have that yogurt in the morning.

I'll be looking for the series again as there was another interesting story about Kids and Food. I was a little too tired to stay up for that, but did hear that children will usually try a food 30 times before refusing it altogether. They did a study with positive peer pressure and eating vegetables. I know my children are much better at eating their veggies now that we have put a priority on it. Actually, my 6 yr. old will often ask for seconds on veggies, but nothing else!

I was so guilty of avoiding the yogurt and milk when I did Flex...I wanted those points for other things. Since I went to Core and don't have to count them, I have fallen in love with them and miss them if I don't have them. Women of my age really need that calcium, and I was getting some in my vegetables, but I feel better about my plan nutritionally since adding the dairy back.

Your kids will follow your good example and that will be one of your greatest gifts to them.

I saw your Healthy Lifestyle Blogger widget and joined myself. Just need to take the time to look around the site and take advantage of it. Thanks for the heads-up!

I find that if I have a cheese stick and fruit for a snack I feel really satisfied. Funny how the foods we really want our kids to eat are good for us too!

This past couple of weeks I have really been trying to meet all the GHGs. I have been having 2-3 servings every day and I feel so much better and regardless of the scale, my clothes are fitting better. Just like all those got milk? comercials promised.

I always try something with my daughter over and over. She usually takes to it. I had heard the number 15 but 30 gives me even more motivation to keep trying. (I am scared of having a picky eater. I don't want to be a short-order cook.)

I always noticed bigger losses when I got my dairy in.

and I'm a BIG fan of giving veggies to my little guy. I don't care if he didn't like them last time he always tries them again.
